I graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1969 with a BBA in Accounting & Finance. After serving in the U.S. Army, I began my accounting profession with Deloitte Touché, an international accounting firm in Memphis, TN and received my CPA certificate in January, 1972.
I was the Chief Operating Officer for Universal Industries Corporation a holding company with twelve small businesses which included a manufacturing company, a beverage distribution company, an import/export company and a small chain of franchise
restaurants.
I have bought and sold several small businesses during a twenty year period before organizing Small Business Accounting Services. After learning first hand how many skills an entrepreneur needs to successfully run a business I was committed to opening an accounting practice dedicated to the small business owner.
I am married to Jan Parker. She is a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. I have two daughters and three grandchildren.
My favorite heros are Winston Churchill, Ronald Reagan and my father.
I love to play games! Golf, Pool, Bridge, you name it and I will play it. I enjoy riding my Harley (2004 Fatboy) even though my wife will not ride with me. My favorite music is 70s rock n’ roll.
